I was always scared to try my hand at any sort of homemade bread or biscuit until I tested this recipe. These only require about 10 minutes of prep time and then you just slide them in the oven. Not only are they delicious, but they are a great confidence builder in the kitchen. You will definitely impress your family (and your self!) with these grain free apple biscuits! I love having these biscuits heated up with a little bit of maple syrup on top!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ingredient Notes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Eggs: If you are vegan, you could try a chia egg, but I have not tested it that way. You could also try extra applesauce, but I have not tried that yet either. If you do try out those methods, let me know!<\/li><li>Coconut oil (liquid): This is hands down the best baking oil! Canola oil and vegetable oil contain extremely harmful ingredients. Coconut oil is natural and tastes better! You can sub melted coconut oil 1 for 1 in any recipe that calls for canola or vegetable oil. I get mine from <a href=\"https:\/\/thrivemarket.com\/c\/coconut-oil?search_query=coconut%20oil\">Thrive Market<\/a>, but your local grocery store should have a few options. <\/li><li>Butter: Grass-fed is best. <\/li><li>Maple Syrup: You could sub for honey or coconut sugar, but I have found that maple syrup works best! I get mine from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.costco.com\/kirkland-signature-organic-pure-maple-syrup%2c-33.8-oz.product.100333884.html\">Costco<\/a>.<\/li><li>Cinnamon: The cinnamon gives the biscuits the best spice flavor!<\/li><li>Unsweetened applesauce: This helps the texture and gives it a little bit more of an apple flavor. <\/li><li>Baking Soda<\/li><li>Coconut Flour: I have not tested this with other flours. Coconut flour is very unique and highly absorbent. If you do try this with other flours, you will have to adjust the measurements. I love coconut flour because it is natural and lower in carbs than regular flour. <\/li><li>Chopped apple: I love adding fresh fruit to my baked goods, and this is no exception! You can reheat leftover biscuits in the microwave. If you are wanting to meal prep these grain free apple biscuits, then you can double or triple the batch, depending on how many people you are feeding. They do heat up well, and are even better with a little bit of maple syrup on top! Gluten can be extremely inflammatory. I love these apple biscuits because they are completely grain free, not just gluten free. There are several other grains that may not have gluten, but are still inflammatory. Since this recipe uses coconut flour, we avoid all grains. Yay! I also love the natural sweetness that coconut flour gives baked goods. These biscuits are sweetened with fresh fruit and maple syrup, so they are free of all refined sugars. Baked goods that are free of refined sugars can be hard to find at the store or at restaurants. By baking these grain free apple biscuits, you know exactly what you are putting in them.
